Social Groups

Connections social groups are designed to teach children with social deficits the appropriate social, community, and leisure skills necessary to help them make and maintain friendships. Participants learn and practice in a variety of locations to increase generalization to natural settings, promote a range of successful peer interactions, and strengthen community skills.

  • Facilitated by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and professionals with Special Education backgrounds
  • Instruction based in principles of behavior
  • Progress is assessed and monitored weekly based on individual goals
  • Held at various locations including parks, skating rinks, bowling alleys, and museums
  • Range of skills are targeted, including reciprocal conversations and interactions, flexibility, emotional regulation, and conflict management
